Thursday, 20 October 2011

Italian energy company Eni announced a “giant natural gas discovery” offshore Mozambique in southeast Africa that could lead to an LNG export project, following a similar LNG-scale discovery in the same region by Anadarko of the US.

Eni said the Mamba South 1 prospect, in the Area 4 offshore Mozambique, produced a discovery well with a total of 212 metres of continuous gas pay in high-quality Oligocene sands.
