US regulators have granted a request for Gulf LNG Energy to commence service at the newest US import terminal located near Pascagoula, Mississippi, and originally built to import regular LNG cargoes from a new liquefaction plant in Angola in southwest Africa.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted the start-up after reviewing commissioning activities where the developers “demonstrated that the Gulf LNG import terminal has been constructed in accordance with Commission approval and applicable standards, and can be expected to operate safely as designed.”
