The Freeport LNG production project in Texas has entered the environmental investigation phase of its permit process as plans advance to export surplus US natural gas.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has filed with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission listing verifications it seeks for the overhaul of the existing facility located at Quintana Island.
