Japanese LNG imports jump 18 percent; prices soar

LNG imports to Japan hit a record high of 7.5 million tonnes last month, a rise of 18 percent from the same period last year, and prices also soared.

The LNG cargoes cost a record total of  500,327 billion yen ($6.5 billion), according to the latest customs data from the Ministry of Finance.
