EU ban on Russian LNG could make cargoes set sail for China

The European Union is preparing to launch further sanctions against Russia’s fossil fuel exports “this spring” – including LNG, which some analysts say sweep over $1 billion per month into the Kremlin’s coffers. If adopted, Russia’s state-dominated Gazprom and independent gas producer Novatek are likely to focus LNG sales on Asian markets, notably China.
