Chinese LNG demand robust on fiscal stimulus, economic recovery

China’s recovering economy will push up gas demand by 9.2 billion cubic metres between June and September, triggered by a 1 trillion Yuan fiscal stimulus package. Energy Aspects anticipates LNG demand to rise by 0.7 million tons over the summer, with Chinese buyers tracked to have secured 16 cargoes for delivery between June and September mainly from strip tenders.
