China’s LNG imports jump over 30 percent in April as economy improves

Shipments of LNG to China jumped 31.5 percent year-on-year to 6.22 million tons in April as the economy gathers speed and annual LNG imports are on course to reach around 77 million tons. Speed and scale of China’s gas demand recovery will largely determine global LNG prices as markets stay tight until early 2027.
