Lull in LNG export capacity growth keeps market tight

Though numerous pre-FID projects could get sanctioned, based on contracting activity, no new LNG export capacity will start up over the coming months. Apart from the return of Freeport LNG, buyers have to rely on the ramp-up of capacity commissioned late last year or wait until 2024 for new projects to come onstream which is bound to intensify competition for cargoes; our Market Editor Anja Karl finds.

January trade down from peak in December

Our January data show weaker LNG output globally following December’s strong growth in trade whilst a net demand increase also remained elusive, our Market Editor Alexander Wilk reports.

AGDC studies alternative fuel hub

ABU DHABI National Oil Company (ADNOC) is proceeding with its plans to offer a minority stake in new subsidiary ADNOC Gas, which consolidates the emirate’s gas processing and LNG operations, through an initial public offering on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in 2023.
