June 29 (LNGJ) - French LNG player and utility Engie has named Edouard Neviaski as head of Energy Management and Trading. Neviaski started his career as a commodities trader with French bank Societe Generale. He was then appointed Chief Executive of Gaselys, the former energy trading joint venture of Gaz de France and SocGen. He then held the position of Global Head of Commodities Markets within SocGen investment banking from 2006 to 2012. That year, he was named CEO of GDF-Suez Trading. In the new post at Engie, Neviaski will have responsibility "for the management of Engie's asset portfolio in continental Europe." His team will "negotiate Engie's natural gas supply contracts and optimise its European power asset portfolio and energy wholesale contracts, including transmission, storage and regasification capacities."
