Nov 11 (LNGJ) - Inpex Corp., the Japanese LNG project developer and terminal owner, reported some success in drilling operations lasting four months at a natural gas well offshore southwest Japan. The operations consisted of drilling to a depth of 2,900 metres below the sea floor at a location 130 kilometres northwest of Shimane Prefecture as part of a project commissioned by the Agency of Natural Resources and Energy. “The drilling operations resulted in the findings of a thin gas reservoir in a shallow zone as well as some gas indications in deeper zones,” the company said Based on these findings, Inpex said it would conduct a detailed analysis and evaluation of the data to decide the next step.
