Sept 12 (LNGJ) - Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG export plant in Louisiana remains on schedule to halt production in mid-September, potentially displacing 1.2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas demand in the South-Central region of the US Gulf Coast. “Given just how reliant the US balance has become on tightness in Gulf coast gas balances, there is a risk the event could create near-term softness in physical markets,” Morgan Stanley said in a note to investors. “That said, with South Central storage now just 59 Bcf above equivalent 2015 levels, and salt-dome facilities at a 12 Bcf year-on-year deficit, we are less concerned as there appears ample capacity to deal with the upcoming event,” it added.
