Singapore-Dutch LNG accord

April 21 (LNGJ) - The Asian port of Singapore and Rotterdam port in the Netherlands have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on research and development in areas such as LNG re-fuelling. The accord was signed by Andrew Tan, Chief Executive of Singapore's port authority and Allard Castelein, President and Chief Executive of Rotterdam port. Both ports operate LNG import terminals. "They agreed to jointly collaborate on R&D relating to service efficiency and optimisation and new developments in the maritime and port sectors, such as LNG bunkering, green shipping and port optimisation," a statement said. The accord was signed during Singapore Maritime Week which runs until April 24.
