Japanese gas-fired LNG use

April 13 (LNGJ) - Japanese electric utilities consumed 4.61 million tonnes of LNG in March compared with 4.70M in the same month a year ago, down just under 2 percent, and versus 4.84MT the previous month, according to statistics from the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan. The amount of LNG actually imported by the 10 major power companies located from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south amounted to 5.08MT last month compared with 5.05MT in March 2014, down 0.6 percent.
