April 7 (LNGJ) - The 170,000 cubic metres capacity Floating Storage and Regasification Unit, the "Hoegh Gallant", was still off the coast of the Egyptian port of Ein Sokhna in the Gulf of Suez, according to shipping data. The FSRU is carrying an initial cargo for Egypt as it awaits the completion of onshore infrastructure commissioning at a temporary import facility being set up at the port. Norwegian company Hoegh signed a five-year contract with Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. in November 2014 to provide the FSRU. EGAS has also signed preliminary deals to receive around 70 LNG cargoes over the next two years to meet rising domestic natural gas demand.
