Feb 5 (LNGJ) - The 138,050 cubic metres capacity "BW GDF-Suez Boston", formerly  known as the "Berge Boston" before being renamed in 2009, has been off the French Caribbean island of Martinique since around January 20 because of problems with its turbines. French company GDF-Suez, joint owner with BW Gas of Singapore, said the crew and cargo were safe and the vessel posed no spillage risks. Shipping data showed that the vessel loaded a cargo in Trinidad at the start of January and was believed to have been on its way to the Everett import terminal operated by a GDF-Suez subsidiary in Massachusetts on the US East Coast when it developed engine trouble. The vessel was delivered in 2003 by South Korean shipbuilders Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.
