Jan 23 (LNGJ) - Ichthys LNG, the Australian project being developed by Japanese energy company Inpex Corp. and France's Total, has increased marine activity around its module offloading facility (MOF) and jetty and advised caution to users of the harbour area near Blaydin Point outside Darwin where the liquefaction plant is being built.  "A number of marine vessels are now in Darwin Harbour working near the MOF and on the construction of the jetty near Blaydin Point," the project developers said. They have brought in a 250 metre marine safety zone and issued a warning to local boat owners and people engaging in marine leisure activities. "Large marine vessels and transport barges with tugs will be transiting the area. These vessels are restricted to operations within the marked channel area and are extremely restricted in their ability to manoeuvre," the project warned.
