Jan 9 (LNGJ) - Golar LNG is offering over 7 million common units in its affiliate Golar LNG Partners as a selling unitholder in a public offering announced by the partnership. Golar intends to use the proceeds to fund a portion of the recently announced contract with Keppel Shipyard to convert one of its first generation LNG carriers, the "Gimi", into a floating liquefaction facility. "These proceeds will be in addition to the proceeds expected to be received over the next two years from the $390 million sale of the 'Golar Eskimo' carrier to the partnership," the company said.
