Dec 16 (LNGJ) - Golar LNG has sold the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), the 160,000 cubic metres capacity "Golar Eskimo", to its affiliate Golar Partners for a price of $390 million. The transaction is expected to be finalized in January 2015. Golar LNG is to retain the right to use the FSRU and to charter the vessel to a third party from January and ending in June 2015. "Any hire received during this period will belong to the company. In return for this, the company will pay Golar Partners $22M in equal monthly instalments starting in January 2015," Golar explained. The "Golar Eskimo" transaction is the sixth Golar vessel sold to Golar Partners since its share sale and listing in New York in April 2011.
