Oct 29 (LNGJ) - French energy company Total said third-quarter LNG sales were 2.95 million tonnes compared with 3.01MT in the same three months a year ago, a decline of 2 percent. However, LNG sales were up 3 percent in the first ninth months of 2014 to 9.01MT versus 8.77MT last year. Commenting in the results statement on the recent death in a plane crash in Russia of Chief Executive Christophe de Margerie, the new CEO Patrick Pouyanne said: “Since the announcement of the death of Christophe de Margerie, Total has received an outpouring of messages commemorating the man, the captain of industry, the visionary. Under his leadership, our group changed profoundly. In an industry confronted with crucial issues, he set out with conviction to make Total a stronger, more responsible company. It is this commitment that drives me to forge ahead.”
