Norway enables LNG debut

Oct 28 (LNGJ) - Lithuania was unoading its first LNG cargo, and the first for the Baltic states of the former Soviet Union, at Klaipeda port and with three-sided participation by Norway. The cargo was delivered by the 160,000 cubic metres capacity Norwegian Golar LNG vessel, the "Golar Seal", from Statoil's Hammerfest plant in northern Norway. The LNG carrier berthed at the FSRU "Independence", a floating storage and regasification vessel provided under charter for 10 years by Norway's Hoegh LNG.
