Oct 22 (LNGJ) - US export plant developer Freeport LNG, owned by energy entrepreneur Michael Smith and ConocoPhillips, and Port Freeport in Texas have started a project to widen the harbour channel. The two companies entered into an agreement with Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Co. to widen the entrance and jetty sections of the Port channel from the existing 400 feet width to 600 feet. The work is to be completed in May 2015.
