Woodside expands in Africa

Oct 14 (LNGJ) - Woodside Petroleum, the largest Australian LNG plant operator, has continued its expansion into offshore Africa by finalizing an agreement with Noble Energy and Glencore for a 30 percent interest in the Tilapia Production Sharing Contract  off the coast of the West African nation of Cameroon. The 3,875 kilometres block is located within the Douala Basin, offshore southwest Cameroon in water depths ranging from the shoreline to 1,100 metres. This agreement follows Woodside's acquisition since July 2014 of new acreage offshore the African countries of Gabon, Tanzania and Morocco.
