June 13 (LNG) - The Japanese energy company and LNG project developer Inpex was awarded another exploration permit with Australian company Santos for WA-504-P in the prolific LNG feed-gas area of the Browse Basin. Inpex will hold 40 percent of the licence while Santos has 60 percent and will be the operator. This is the 11th block in which Inpex holds exploration permits or retention leases in the vicinity of its Ichthys LNG project with feed-gas located offshore northwest Australia and a liquefaction plant currently being built near the port of Darwin. The new block is located 500 kilometres offshore Broome in Western Australia and covers an area of 83 square kilometres in waters up to 400 metres deep.
