May 6 (LNGJ) - Novatek Chairman and Chief Executive Leonid V. Mikhelson has raised his personal stake in the second-largest Russian natural gas producer and developer of the Yamal LNG project in the Arctic region to 0.715 percent of the shares in a company with a market capitalization of $29 billion. Novatek's upstream activities are concentrated in the prolific Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region of Siberia, the world's largest natural gas area, accounting for about 90 percent of Russia's production and 17 percent of global gas output.
