Oct 11 (LNGJ) - Baker Hughes said the US onshore well count in mostly shale basins for the third quarter was 9,175 wells, up 164 wells, or 2 percent from the second quarter. Due to improved drilling efficiencies, the average US onshore drilling rig is now producing 2 percent more wells, compared to only three months ago. Compared to the second quarter, the well count rose notably in the Permian (up 66 wells), Williston (up 54 wells) and Eagle Ford (up 44 wells) basins. These increases were offset by reductions in the Fayetteville (down 35 wells) and Barnett (down 23 wells) basins.
