Sept 2 (LNGJ) - Four of the companies developing coal-seam-gas-to-LNG plants near Gladstone in Queensland will contribute A$34.5m (US$31M) for conservation projects. The corporate grants are for an extra 2,900 hectares of land on Curtis Island near Gladstone, where three plants will be located, to be dedicated as a protected area. The move has been supported by funding from the BG Group-led Queensland Curtis LNG project, the Gladstone LNG project, Australia Pacific LNG and Arrow Energy.
