Feb 20 (LNGJ) - Enagas, the Spanish LNG import terminal and transmission network owner, said 2012 net profit was 379.5 million euros ($509M), over 4 percent higher than in 2011. This increase was attributed to "efficiency and strict cost control, with operating expenses falling 1.8 percent."  Enagas controls five import terminals out of seven in Spain, but LNG throughput has slumped because of the recession and it has mothballed the newest terminal at Gijon in the country's northeast.
