April 3 (LNGJ) - Indian buyers have rejected the price sought by Qatar for supplying an additional 5 million tonnes per annum of LNG. The Qatari LNG was apparently being offered at oil-linked prices three times that of domestic prices in India. The "Times of India" newspaper said Indian Oil Minister S. Jaipal Reddy "articulated India's pricing concerns in the presence of the Qatari Energy Minister Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada" at a function to mark the founding of India's biggest LNG company Petronet, which is importing 7.5 MTPA from Qatar under a 25-year deal.
