Enagas, the Spanish LNG import terminal owner, signed a 200million euros ($270M) tranche of a 1 billion euros loan taken out with the European Investment Bank to finance its growth plans. The repayment term is for a period of up to 20 years "at a highly competitive total fixed cost," Enagas said. The Spanish company also said that while on other occasions the EIB required guarantees from different banks, this time the transaction was carried out directly between the EIB and Enagas, demonstrating "the EIB's confidence in the company."
