Lantern LNG Holding, a US development company focused on building nearshore LNG liquefaction facilities on fixed platforms, is to appoint Honeywell as the end-to-end LNG technology and automation solutions provider for its planned offshore LNG development located in Matagorda Bay off Texas.
Lantern said it planned to use Honeywell’s full-service LNG technology portfolio, including natural gas pre-treatment, advanced liquefaction and coil-wound heat exchangers, coupled with its automation and digital solutions.
The company’s Matagorda Bay facility aims to produce around 12 mill tonnes per annum of LNG utilising three trains of 4 mill tonnes per annum.
Lantern LNG currently expects a final investment decision (FID) for Train 1 in 2029, with a commercial operations date (COD) anticipated for late 2031.
