Greek energy company, DESFA has concluded the annual booking of LNG unloading slots and regasification capacity auctions at the Revithoussa LNG terminal for the 2026/2040 period.
The auctions were held between October, 2025 and January 2026, and recorded positive results, DESFA said.
During the auctions, 413 unloading slots were offered, corresponding to a total of 342.5 TWh of LNG, of which 409 were booked, amounting to 340.5 TWh, with the participation of up to five users per year, which demonstrated strong market interest.
DESFA said that the auctions once again confirmed the importance of LNG in users’ energy planning and highlighted the practice of long-term capacity booking as a key mechanism to enhance energy security, predictability and market stability.
Furthermore, the results highlighted the high level of market trust in Revithoussa, as well as the key role of Greece in enhancing the security of supply for the wider region of southeast Europe.
At the same time, DESFA’s new infrastructure, such as the compression station in Komotini and Ampelia, combined with investments to upgrade and expand the national natural gas transmission system, allowed the increased transport of natural gas to the North, confirming that the country now operates as a stable and reliable LNG entry gateway at a regional level.
For the years 2027, 2028 and 2029, the offered cargoes were already fully reserved at previous auctions, while for the years 2026 and 2030, the remaining cargoes were reserved, leading to the full coverage of the offered capacity.
