It has been reported from Australia that the UK’s energy giant, Shell has received approvals from Australia’s offshore regulator, NOPSEMA, thus enabling it to go ahead with the $2.5 bill Crux gas field development.
Crux is being developed to provide backfill gas to Shell’s FLNG ‘Prelude’. The gas will be transported via a new 165 km pipeline to the unit. First gas is scheduled for 2027.
Activities are expected to take from nine to 24 months to complete and work is scheduled to start next year, subject to regulatory approvals and the project’s schedules, local media said, quoting Shell.
