At the start of the 2025/2026 heating season, Germany’s privately owned LNG terminal, Deutsche Ostsee, operated by Deutsche ReGas, achieved record high monthly gas deliveries.
In October, 4.1 TWh was injected into Germany’s long-distance gas network via the terminal, located at Mukran in the Baltic Sea.
This represents the highest monthly figure ever recorded for an LNG terminal in the German Baltic Sea region, Deutsche Regas said.
Data from the transparency platform (https://alsi.gie.eu) for LNG deliveries showed that with the start of the cold season in October, almost the same amount of natural gas was delivered to Germany via the Deutsche ReGas LNG terminal as through the three western German LNG terminals combined.
Ingo Wagner, Managing Partner of Deutsche ReGas, said: "The Deutsche Ostsee energy terminal is connected to the largest available transit capacity in Germany. This makes feeding gas into the long-distance gas network via Mukran particularly grid-friendly.
“Thanks to the combination of high grid serviceability and record injection capacity, we are already making a significant contribution to security of supply for Germany and Europe in Mukran – against the backdrop of historically low gas storage levels – right from the start of the current heating season," he said.
