At a recent ceremony in Bosiljevo, Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, marked the completion of the Zlobin - Bosiljevo gas pipeline and the beginning of work on the Lučko - Zabok gas pipeline.
These projects are being financed from the funds of the Recovery and Resilience Facility under Croatia’s project ‘Supporting infrastructure for the strategic investment project LNG terminal’.
This was described as an extremely complex project on the country’s gas transmission system, in which about €140 mill was invested.
Its construction will enable an increase in gas transported from the existing LNG terminal on Krk island from 2.9 to 3.5 bill cu m of gas per year.
The construction of the 58 km long Zlobin - Bosiljevo gas pipeline creates the basic pre-conditions for increasing the security of gas supply to Croatian consumers and for further development of the gas pipeline system and increasing gas transportation to Hungary and Slovenia.
When the main Zabok - Lučko pipeline is built (completion is planned in 15 months), it will enable an increase in the flexibility of managing the existing transport capacities and a multiple increase in the capacity of the gas pipeline to Slovenia.
