Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) has signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS).

This gives it an expanded scope to explore joint procurement of LNG between Singapore and KOGAS, EMA said.

The MoU is part of EMA’s efforts to further strengthen its LNG supply chains and energy security.

It was signed on 8th October, 2024 at the Singapore-Korea Business Forum by Puah Kok Keong, EMA CEO, and Ms Choi Yeon-Hye, KOGAS President and CEO.

An earlier MoU was signed in June focusing on sharing best practices and knowledge on LNG procurement and management.

Both parties have agreed to further strengthen their collaboration to explore joint procurement of LNG supplies, as well as co-operation in chartering or operating LNGCs.
