Tokyo Gas sales decline

Feb 16 (LNGJ) - Tokyo Gas, Japan's third-largest LNG importer, said it delivered just over 1.57 billion cubic metres of natural gas to customers in January, the equivalent of 1.16 million tonnes of LNG, a fall of 4.9 percent compared with the same month a year ago. The smallest decline in sales was in the industrial sector, where volumes were 623 million cubic metres, down 1.5 percent. Wholesale supplies of regasified LNG to other city-gas companies actually rose by 5.8 percent to 237.3 million cubic metres. Residential and business sales each fell by more than 10 percent to 458.3 million cubic metres and 255.6 million cubic metres respectively.
