US oil may follow LNG

Dec 15 (LNGJ) - As a new era in US LNG exports is set to start on a commercial basis in early 2016, US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude oil prices were at their lowest since February 2009 as Congress considered moving ahead on plans to let energy companies export US crude unhindered for the first time since the oil crisis of the 1970s. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries cartel has effectively abandoned output limits and are shipping as much as they can to defend their market shares.
