Oct 19 (LNGJ) - Japanese utility Tohoku Electric Power signed a long-term supply contract with French energy company Engie for LNG shipments from the US Cameron LNG plant in Louisiana. Tohoku signed a 20-year contract for 270,000 tonnes per annum on a delivered basis whereby Engi provides the shipping. Deliveries are expected to start in 2018. Construction work began in October 2014 to transform the existing import terminal into an export plant. Engie has a stake in the LNG plant being developed by Sempra Energy of California.
