Sept 15 (LNGJ) - Oil Search Ltd. Chairman Rick Lee has sent a letter to shareholders in the Papua New Guinea LNG and oil company explaining his board's rejection of a merger offer from Woodside Petroleum of Australia. The chairman mention five points relating to his rejection of the Woodside all-share bid for Oil Search, valued at US$8 billion. "Should any proposals be tabled in the future that reflected compelling value for Oil Search shareholders, having regard to the company's strong operating and financial position and future growth prospects, your board will assess them," Lee said.
