Amec wins Algeria contract

Aug 12 (LNGJ) - Amec Foster Wheeler, the UK-based LNG and energy engineering company, was awarded a de-bottlenecking consultancy contract in Algeria for the Hassi R'Mel gas field, one of the largest in the world. The contract was awarded by Sonatrach, the Algerian energy company that runs two LNG export plants on the Mediterranean coast and pipelines to Europe. The value of the contract was not disclosed. Roberto Penno, Amec FW's Group President for the region, said: "We are delighted to be working with Sonatrach again on this major development using our considerable upstream and pipelines expertise, and hope to further build the relationship by supporting them with their future plans."
