Tuesday, 07 May 2024

Arbitrage for US LNG to Asia has been open since the first week of April: Spot LNG prices in Asia traded 9 percent higher week-on-week at around $9.8/MMBtu, compared with TTF month-ahead prices around $8.8/MMBtu, making suppliers of US-origin LNG try to sell their volumes to Asia rather than Europe particularly as Japanese utilities vye for spot cargoes.
