Gross natural gas withdrawals in the US Permian region set a record high last year at 21.0 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d), 14 percent above the 2021 average, and output keeps rising going into 2023. Midstream companies aim to bring an additional 4.2 Bcf/d of takeaway pipeline capacity onstream by the end of 2024.
