High commodity prices drove up the value of energy trade between Mexico and the United States last year to $81.9 billion, an all-time high. More crude oil was imported from Mexico at a greater expense, while exports of US pipeline gas eased by 4 percent year-on-year to 5.7 Bcf/d on average, though trade value fell only 1.5 percent amid higher prices.
