High demand could spur $100 billion in new US LNG projects by 2027

Record prices and the need for energy security is causing a third wave of US LNG projects, with Wood Mackenzie expecting over $100 billion to be invested over the next five years. A staggering 65 mtpa of long-term contracts were signed in 2022, compared with just 18.5 mtpa in the previous year, as utility buyers seek stable supply for power generation.
