Russian LNG Exports to Europe Outpace Asian Counterparts

Our data for 1Q 2024 showed Russian LNG exports to Europe ensured the country saw net LNG export growth year-on-year. The increase in exports to Europe meant Novatek’s Yamal LNG project has been producing flat out. Concurrently, Russian LNG exports to Asia have weakened. Net growth notwithstanding, Russian LNG expansion plans are facing stiff headwinds due to sanctions.
