The first cargo loading at the new Pointe Noire FLNG facility in the Democratic Republic of Congo has begun, our data showed on Monday. This marks the West African country’s market entry as on schedule and will help to at least slow the declining trend in West African LNG exports since 2020. Project leader Eni and its partners are already working on an expansion of the FLNG plant and are looking to push capacity to 3.0mtpa by 2025. For the time being, the project will be capacity bound by the Tango FLNG barge’s 0.60mtpa capacity.
