TotalEnergies’ new Le Havre FSRU terminal has received its first conventional cargo aboard the Minerva Amorgos on Saturday, our data showed. Previously, the energy major had chartered and installed the fully laden FSRU Cape Ann at the Le Havre FSRU site in mid-September. Annualised utilisation of French LNG import capacity hit capacity last year as European buyers rushed to replace Russian pipeline gas. Although pressure on French LNG import capacity measured by annualised utilisation has eased during the first three quarters of this year, it remains at more than 77pct on average even when including the new FSRU, according to our data. Pressure groups had previously criticised the Le Havre FSRU project as unnecessary.
