New LNG projects are sprouting in Europe to add new LNG import capacity as quickly as possible before the end of the year. Historically, relatively little gas has been imported via FSRUs in Europe, but this is likely to change as capacity expansions in the Netherlands, France and Germany are underway. The first of these new facilities – Eemshaven LNG in the Netherlands – has now taken in its first cargo slightly ahead of schedule.
