Qatar, the world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas, said on Monday it is ‘unhappy’ with the extremely high prices because they may result in demand destruction. The country is already producing at near capacity, our data show. Energy Minister Saad Al-Kaabi reiterated his belief in the virtues of long-term supply deals to provide market stability and emphasised Qatar’s goal to secure long-term contracts for its planned LNG capacity expansion.
