The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued an order partly granting a petition for a waiver for Shell North America to allow Russia’s Gazprom some capacity Shell  holds for regasified LNG to be transported on the North Baja Pipeline from Mexico to the US.

Fluor Corp. said it was awarded a contract to perform front-end engineering and design services by Australian energy company Santos for a coal-seam-gas-to-LNG project in Queensland, Australia.

DSM Dyneema, the Dutch company whose fiber products include ropes for LNG carriers and components for a cryogenic hose for offshore LNG transfers, announced the start of a lawsuit against a Chinese company and an Italian-based distributor for alleged patent infringement.

Teekay LNG Partners, the shipping holding company of Canada’s Teekay Corp., said net average voyage revenue for its LNG carriers in the first three months of 2009 was $57,290 per day compared with $55,982 in the first three months of the previous year.
